Oh yeah, I went to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, which took three hours to get through everything, and here’s something that blew my fucking mind. They have the chairs and desk from the surrender at Appomattox. This is where the Civil War ended. Grant and Lee sat in these chairs. Lee signed his surrender on this table. There was maybe two or three other people browsing this room with me. Meanwhile, there was a gargantuan, twisting line through the building to see the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz and a Kermit the Frog muppet.
